Typhoon Haiyan – November 2013
The super-typhoon in November 2013 devastated huge areas of the Philippines and was widely reported in the media and press. many relief agencies are advertising for support and funds to provide immediate and longer-term relief for the many thousands whose lives have been devastated by the storm. Though Manila had torrential rain and storm force winds there was little structural damage and the organisations we support suffered nothing more than the flooding which is common from the regular typhoons which sweep across the country. We would urge Dorcas supporters to give to the major international relief agencies as they are able as neither Kanlungan nor Potter's Hand were severely affected and their work has continued.
